• Kamieniec Ząbkowicki – originally an ancillary settlement at the Cistercian Abbey until 1810, and then until 1945 a site of vast goods bought by the Queen of the Netherlands – used the unique in the scale of Lower Silesia opportunity of its development. The history of the current town of Kamieniec Ząbkowicki is a story of four, initially independently developing settlements: Kamieniec, Istebka, Łopienica and attached in the postwar period Goleniów Śląski
  • Already in the 19th century, there has been a definite territorial development of the town. As a settlement, in which on the basis of the acquired infrastructure after Cistercians, the seat of the prince’s goods was established and where impressive palace was built, Kamieniec got a unique opportunity to both economic and spatial development. Based on historical routes Kamieniec was in the 19th century still spatially combined with the closest connected villages: Istebka and Łopienica. The end of the 19th century and the rise of the railway triggered the development of Kamieniec towards neighboring Goleniów Śląski.

The landscape of the area is distinguished by surrounded by the park palace of Marianne of Orange-Nassau rising on Góra Zamkowa – the work of the most eminent creators of her era. Following a pattern of small towns, since the 19th century a numerous public buildings were created in Kamieniec – schools, institutions of charity and hospitals, railway stations, taverns, inns and restaurants, post offices. The centre of the place developed on the model of a town (based on developed and existing till the end of the modern era market place in front of the abbey).
